Insurance (Out-of-network information)
I do not contract with insurance at this time and I am considered an out-of-network provider. This means I do not bill insurance directly, however, I can provide a superbill at the end of each month. A superbill is an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits.
Before scheduling an appointment, I recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card and asking about your “out-of-network therapy benefits.”
CalVCB Authorized Provider for Children & Teens
(Private Pay / Out-of-Network)
If your child or teen has been a victim of or witnessed a violent crime in California, their therapy may be covered by the California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB).
State-Funded Care: I am an authorized provider with CalVCB. If your child has an active, approved claim, the state can pay for their trauma recovery sessions directly.
How to Start: Please mention your child's CalVCB claim number when you contact me so we can discuss the billing process and get care started quickly.
Employee Assistance Programs Benefits
I am an approved provider for several Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) that may cover the full cost of your child's sessions. I proudly accept:
Corporate Counseling Associates (CCA) EAP
First Choice Health EAP
Please Note: EAP benefits are designed for short-term, solution-focused care and cover a limited number of sessions (typically 3 to 10 sessions, depending on your employer's specific plan).
Before our first session: Please contact your HR department or EAP coordinator to obtain your authorization code and confirm exactly how many sessions are covered.
Long-Term Care: If your child requires ongoing therapy after your EAP sessions are exhausted, we can transition to our standard private-pay rates.
Sliding scale
I am committed to making therapy accessible and offer a limited number of sliding scale spots when availability allows. If cost is a concern, please feel free to reach out to discuss available options.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" after our first visit. This document explains how much your mental health care will cost.
You can ask your health care provider and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute your bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
For any questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
Payment
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. I accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as HSA/FSA cards. All payments are processed securely through the HIPAA-compliant SimplePractice client portal, which you will also use for video sessions, documentation, and communication.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.
