Do you offer a free consultation before starting services?
Yes! A brief consultation call is required before scheduling an intake. This gives us a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit. It's important to me that you and your child feel comfortable and supported and that my approach is the right match for you and your child's needs. Before we begin working together, I want to make sure I’m the best person to help.
It’s a no-pressure, complimentary call that typically lasts around 15 minutes. Schedule your free consultation call if you would like to learn more.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept private health insurance directly. However, I am happy to provide you with a monthly statement (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
I do accept the following alternative payment options:
Select EAP (Employee Assistance Programs)
CalVCB (California Victim Compensation Board)
Sliding Scale Fees (based on financial need and availability)
What ages do you work with?
I specialize in working with children and teenagers, typically ranging from ages 3 to 17.
How does therapy work? What happens in sessions?
Every one is different, so sessions are tailored to their individual needs and goals. I offer both in-person therapy sessions and telehealth (virtual) therapy sessions.
For children who meet in person for play therapy, sessions often include play-based activities, games, and guided interactions that help them express themselves and build skills in a natural, engaging way.
For tweens and teens who meet online (Telehealth), sessions focus on conversation, activities, and strategies that fit a virtual setting, helping them develop skills, reflect on challenges, and practice new ways of coping or communicating.
What is a Registered Play Therapist (RPT™)
An RPT™ is a licensed therapist with advanced, postgraduate credentials specializing in play therapy. Beyond standard therapist licensing, I’ve completed extensive specialized coursework and hundreds of extra hours of supervised clinical training dedicated strictly to play therapy. As an RPT™ I'm uniquely trained to decode play themes and behaviors, helping your child heal and process big emotions naturally.
Can you help if my child is struggling at school?
Yes. In addition to being a licensed therapist and Registered Play Therapist™, I hold a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) in School Counseling and have experience working as a school counselor in elementary, middle and high school settings. This gives me a unique perspective on how emotional, social, and behavioral challenges can show up in school settings. I often help children and teens with concerns such as school anxiety, peer difficulties, emotional regulation, and confidence in the classroom.
Do you work with schools or teachers?
When helpful and with parent permission, I can collaborate with school staff to support your child. My experience within school systems allows me to help families think through supports, communication with teachers, and strategies that can help children feel more successful and confident at school.
What is my role in my child’s therapy?
Parent involvement is a key part of the therapeutic process. I schedule regular parent consultation sessions to discuss your child’s progress, share observations from the playroom, and collaborate on how to best support them at home and school.
These sessions are just for parents or caregivers and provide a valuable space to reflect on any changes you’re noticing (or not), talk about how to use new skills and strategies at home, and adjust goals or approaches as needed.
We will discuss frequency of our consultations during our intake assessment and can meet on zoom or by phone. For younger children, I tend to meet more frequently with parents. For teens, the frequency in which we meet is structured around what is clinically relevant and honors your teen's confidentiality.
We’re a team, and your insight is essential to the work we do together.
